The Bosnian-American Television is an independent television
production that started in May 1999 in New York. At first, the main purpose of
our program was to reach all Bosnians who live in New York and the Metro area.
In fact, more than ten thousand Bosnians reside in five boroughs of New York
and hundred thousand others understand our language. Our program was the first
and only of its kind in the United States and Canada.
Due to a high demand and interest in our programming, we have expanded our
coverage and managed to realize our original goal which was to offer satellite
programming to all Bosnians throughout the US. In October 2003, we have
introduced satellite program covering the United States and Canada.
Our show is an entertainment show with cultural information which is addressed
to immigrants and refugees from Bosnia and former Yugoslavia.
The Bosnian community in the United States is large and it is estimated that
around 350.000 Bosnians reside in the US. The majority of Bosnians is
concentrated in large cities such as New York, Jacksonville, Atlanta, Chicago,
Detroit and Saint Louis. At this moment, it is estimated that fifty thousand
households watch our program on a regular basis. In addition to Bosnians, our
audience consists of other ethnic groups from the territories of former
Yugoslavia such as Croats, Serbs, Albanians and Montenegrins.
